Mountain View High School Choir

About MV Choirs
The Mountain View Choir program is a vibrant community of passionate musicians dedicated to choral excellence and building positive relationships. With four ensembles ranging from beginner to advanced, we strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. At Mountain View, we believe choir is for everyone!
Our Ensembles
Chamber Choir (Grades 9–12, SATB – Non-Auditioned)
Chamber Choir is our beginning mixed ensemble, designed to build foundational skills in vocal technique, music literacy, and ensemble singing. Open to all students in grades 9–12, this group provides a supportive space for learning how to participate in choir while developing confidence and musicality. It’s also a great opportunity for upperclassmen to demonstrate leadership and mentorship within the program.
Select Treble Choir (Grades 10–12, SA – Auditioned)
Select Treble Choir is an advanced treble ensemble for soprano and alto singers who are ready for a more rigorous musical experience. Members are expected to demonstrate strong work ethic, consistent attendance, and a positive attitude. This group explores more challenging repertoire and is held to higher musical and educational standards, preparing students for upper-level performance opportunities.
Concert Choir (Grades 10–12, SATB – Auditioned, Meets Before School)
Concert Choir is our premier touring ensemble, offering students an additional opportunity to perform advanced SATB repertoire outside of the regular school day. Participation requires enrollment in a daytime choir unless approved due to Running Start or Cascadia Tech Academy commitments. This group takes the most field trips, performs complex literature, and represents Mountain View Choir in the community. Strong attendance, attitude, and a commitment to fundraising are essential for participation.
Mountain Express (Grades 11–12, SATB – Auditioned, Small Ensemble)
Mountain Express is an elite vocal group made up of 16 experienced singers who perform a wide variety of challenging repertoire, including contemporary, pop, and jazz styles. With only 2–4 singers per part, this ensemble demands advanced musicianship, strong individual responsibility, and prior choral experience. Mountain Express performs frequently and represents the highest level of vocal performance within the program.
